All things being equal consists of a pallet and a hod of red bricks made entirely from Victoria sponge cake. The recipe for Victoria sponge cake is famously made up of equal parts butter, sugar and flour.
The 'Victoria sponge cake' references the Victorian age in Britain where the country went through the modernising effects of the industrial revolution, which bought about fundamental economic and cultural changes to society, such as mass production and food standardization.
