Im(pulse) is an electric organ left switched on; playing the electronic 'March' preset through the duration of an the exhibition. These electric organs were once ubiquitous in many European homes and churches. Now they are less fashionable and can be picked up cheaply in many places. The organ has many synth effects, pedals and some interesting presets. The organ is exhibited in a way that invites visitors to come and play with it. However the 'March' setting remaines turned on throughout . The simple patterned beat of the 'March' setting reverberates throughout the gallery space, giving the space a heartbeat or a pulse. When visitors interact with the piece the beat becomes distorted and augmented.
