Hand to mouth existence

This was a five day performance where I germinated a cress seed in my hand. This performance was bought about through the luxury of time and money that my first ever residency bought me. I used the time to germinate a cress seed in my hand, which involved a lot of sitting around watching TV. I used the money, or more precisely, the envelope that contained my residency fee cheque to cover my hand. This gave the seed the perfect dark and dank microclimate in which to germinate. The performance was a private, antisocial affair and this photo is the only documentation which exists.
